THE EDMONTON wedding PHOTOGRAPHER FOR COUPLES WHO ARE hands-on WITH CRAFTING THEIR WEDDING DAY EXPERIENCE

You’re looking for someone who will advocate for you to do whatever the hell you want on your wedding day, empower you to prioritize meaningful experiences over traditional formalities, and seamlessly adapt to the natural flow of your day, right?

I’m Janine – my job is to make you feel comfortable & beautiful in front of my camera.

With a decade of experience under my belt, I’ve mastered the art of making people feel (and look!) comfortable in their own skin and beautiful in front of the camera. If I could tell you one thing, it would be this: You don’t need to perform or change any aspect of yourself to fit into something you’re not – especially for a day that’s intended to be all about you. You don’t need to invite your great Aunt Suzie just because she’s family, and you don’t have to worry about your hair being perfectly in place for every single shot. This day is supposed to be about the pure, unadulterated joy of marrying your favorite person – flyaways and all.

Yes, I planned a non-traditional elopement of my own, and no, I wouldn’t change a damn thing.

After planning destination elopement in New Zealand with my now-husband (and high school sweetheart) Colton, I’m familiar with all the bittersweet feels that come with the territory. Even with that being said, it was still the best decision we could have made. After being together for 10 years, all we wanted was a celebration that marked the journey we’ve embarked on and represented us at our core. And while for us that meant ditching our friends & family to fly to New Zealand (and tour the LotR filming locations!) for a glorious elopement and honeymoon combined, for you that could look like…

…Having a “just the two of you” ceremony and partying the night away with your people.
…Hosting a rooftop ceremony and Sunday brunch-style reception at a charming Parisian restaurant.
…Getting ready together followed by a romantic rooftop ceremony in the city, and enjoying an intimate backyard gathering.
…Planning an all-out bash and incorporating personal touches throughout the day.

The options are literally endless.

And although it may seem more straightforward to plan a traditional wedding, taking the road less travelled will ultimately result in a more fulfilling and soulful day – and isn’t that what getting married is all about?

(And don’t worry – I’m here to help you create the dream wedding you deserve!)

lets get personal

There Are Two Things I Live By In Life: Every Problem Is solvable, And Worrying Only Means Suffering twice.

Intertwining my values in both life and business has always come naturally to me. I’m someone who tries to infuse intention and purpose into just about everything – from my wardrobe to my home decor to my shooting style. I try not to sweat the small stuff and be continuously grateful for the life Colton and I have created together, even when life throws curveballs. I encourage my couples to have the same approach to their wedding – something will inevitably come up that you’ll be less than thrilled about, but at the end of the day, as long as you get to say your vows and sign the dotted lines, you’ve ultimately won.

When I’m not living out my dream job, you can find me at home (in my happy place) with our rescue pups Tauriel and Pabu working on the latest reno project, making tacos & spicy margs on a Tuesday, and tackling my never-ending TBR list (ask me about our book club).

COLLABORATION, communication, & CONNECTION ARE WHAT I’M ALL ABOUT

Here’s the thing: while I do have a knack for taking warm, whimsical, and soulful imagery, I can’t take all the credit. You always get my best work when you welcome collaboration, communication, and connection with me as your photographer. If you’re looking for a one-sided relationship… Well, that’s just not what I’m about!

YOU THINK WE’D vibe TOGETHER?

“My job is to make the immeasurable measurable. In my spare time, I have tried to preserve the unpreservable. My work and my hobby are both attempts to capture this elusive thing we call happniess. To ask time to freeze. To allow us to savour those moments when all felt right with the world. It has been an attempt to preserve happiness for that 1/250th of a second.”
