Snowy fall wedding | Lion’s Garden
Half-way through September, Edmonton was hit with a cold snap. Snow began to fly just at the leaves were falling off the trees. The wind started to gust. By the Saturday of Lauren and Glen’s fall wedding, there was a few inches of snow on the ground, and the drop in temperature meant that their wedding plans needed to change slightly. Instead of having their ceremony outdoors at Lion’s Garden, it took place inside the barn. In the week leading up to their wedding, their bridal party banded together to create the gorgeous copper pipe and greenery arch that Lauren and Glen would be married under. If that’s not true friendship, I don’t know what is!
Their day may not have gone exactly to plan, but Lauren and Glen’s wedding was one of the most meaningful and romantic days I’ve had the pleasure of being a part of. Umbrellas and blankets for the guests were brought, warm drinks were served, and everyone cozied up under the string lights and candlelight for dinner. Lauren and Glen even brought in an instructor to teach salsa dancing, so their guests would have something to do while we were off doing portraits (and to ensure everyone joined them on the dance floor later!).
The dessert table was made up of homemade desserts from family members, including macarons, cookies stamped with their wedding date, and a wedding cake, of course! Their guests danced the night away as the snow quietly fell outside.
