This autumn has been one of the most gorgeous we’ve ever had here in Edmonton. I’ve never seen such vibrant leaves and that perfect autumn weather – that kind of weather that’s still warm enough to justify me leaving the house in my Birkenstocks (I’ll be wearing those until there’s more than an inch of snow on the ground, folks) yet cool enough to wear a comfy sweater and scarf, or curl up with blankets and tea. Can you tell this is my favourite season? This is also the kind of season where I’m still busy, but also restless. It’s a weird juxtaposition that has me scrambling to catch up on this summer’s editing, yet it’s starting to slow down enough that I’m daydreaming of travelling or planning new personal projects. It’s like an itch that you can’t quite scratch. I want to get out and photograph new things, and Emily and Harley were up for being my guinea pigs for what was actually the first maternity session I’ve shot! Emily is the artist that did my Harry Potter tattoo, and I photographed her and Harley a few years ago for their engagement session. It’s so amazing to be able to see their milestones and I’m so happy that they’re going to be welcoming a beautiful baby into their lives soon! I’m so happy for you both, and I am just so excited to see you become such amazing parents!
