Kate and Kyle were married in downtown Edmonton in one of the most intimate weddings I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing. Accompanied by nine of their closest family members, both their ceremony and reception took place in the upstairs room of the classic Italian restaurant, Violino Ristorante. The brisk fall weather and strong winds prevented us from our original location plan for portraits, but being able to stay around the restaurant during that time meant that not only did we get more time for portraits, they were also able to get back to visiting with their family as soon as we were done!
One of the things I loved most about their day was their dinner in the evening. It didn’t feel like a fancy wedding reception, it felt like Sunday dinner in your family home. Their family sat down around a small table in a private room and just took it slow over several hours. They told stories, made speeches, laughed, cried, ate amazing Italian food and just spent the evening relaxing and celebrating. The entire evening was just full of so much love and I am so grateful they asked me to be a part of it.
